Monday/Tuesday

We had rain all day on Monday and alot of the day Tuesday. We worked at the shack cleaning up trash, cutting limbs out of the drive and around the perimeter of the boardwalk. I felt my as well as rest of the crew. Power is available and well as a small window. We've had the pleasure of spending time with members from the church and fellowshipping over meals and playing with children. Tomorrow several of us will get to play!! we are going fishing with an old friend that we worked with at Coffman Cove several years ago--Charlie Stewart. You will definetly hear a "fish" story on tomorrow. Pray for safety and a time where we can meet people in town and make contact for VBS which starts next week.

Church Day

Sorry we missed a post on yesterday but it was a rainy, cold day--snow and sleet in some areas of the island. The guys went into Craig to buy materials while the rest of us hung out with the children and read books.
Today it was still raining but we had a great time of praise and worship. Potluck and the fellowship was awesome also. Pray that we have better weather and that we are able to accomplish all the we need to do.
Pray that you all had a great Sunday!
Talk to you tomorrow.

Finally here!!

We finally made it after a long long trying time in Atlanta--we left Atlanta at 5:00ish on yesterday arrived in Seattle at 7:30 (their time). After a conversation with Delta they graciously gave us a hotel room for the night. We had a good night sleep and up at 5:00 this morning to board a plane for Ketchikan--Finally.
But I have to tell you the cool part, the lady I sat by on the Seattle to Ketchikan trip was headed to Wrangell to check on her 25 year old daughter who is a counselor for the state of Alaska with troubled children. She takes them out in the wilderness for 9 weeks at a time to "rough it in nature". She(Amanda) has contracted either shingles or some kind of infection that has affected her right eye and her face. She was placed in the clinic in Wrangell and is awaiting the news of her diagnosis. Her mother and I had a wonderful conversation about Christ and how awesome HE is to even care who we sit by in a plane....(may be the reason we were delayed) anyway we got to pray with her. AWESOME!!
We found our luggage waiting on us at the airport in Ktn. and was able to ride a float plane over to Prince of Wales--Hollis. Finally arriving at 11:30 on Friday after traveling for some 28 hours.
Pray for continued safety, servanthood, open hearts and minds to the gospel and sweet rest!!
Love all of you,
Chuck, Pam, Will and Darrell and Claudia

Delta is Not ready when you are!!!!

4:00 and we are still in Atlanta, long, long story that started off this morning---with delay after delay. Ok Lord what are you telling us!! Our patience is short and Claudia and I have the giggles. Where is "planes are Us" when you need them..Chuck is a little punchy also.
Pray that we make it soon-we know we will be sleeping in Seattle.
Hollis on tomorrow no thanks to Delta.
Love you guys,
Pam

June 24th

Exhausted from attempting to get 5days worth of work completed in 3 days, packing, cleaning,
rearranging--busy work. Trying to keep our pack including carry on under 40 lbs-since some of us will be taking our first float plane over to Hollis??
No matter how many times we have made this trip each is so exciting because we always see God's mighty handy work. The beautiful ocean, landscape, the whales, eagles and then of course the beautiful children....wanting friendship and someone to pay them a little attention. I can't help but think of all those that have made this trip with us, making a profound difference in their lives. The hard work and even the limited play time is meaningful. Pray for rest, safety, the Holy Spirit's work on hearts and minds to soften.
So as we leave in the morning--7:50 a.m. (if you are up) watch the plane fly overhead and PRAY!
Thank you for praying and following us.
We love ya,
Chuck,Pam,Will, Darrell and Claudia

Leaving vs Going

Here we are in June leaving Augusta with 100 degrees and about the same for humidity, going to 70 degrees!! yeh!!

We have a small group this year that will be assisting with a few small odds and ends needed at Hollis and assisting with Sunshine Bible Academy when they come on July 1st.
The Lord has blessed us with a piece of property that we pray to use for the ministry- so we will secure the property this trip and will do some small construction on a boardwalk.
Our family after much thought and prayer has named the ministry land:
"Grey Haven" or in Elvish for you Lord of the Rings fans "Mithlond"-a great place of rest and security.
We will miss our regular fellow travelers--Caleb and Emily!

Please pray for safety and the ability to share with others "the TRUTH".

Love in Christ,
Chuck, Pam, Will, Darrell and Claudia
